Deck The Halls Shadow Box Card

This is a simple card I decided to make using the Carols of Christmas stamp set from Stampin’ Up!® In a previous post I discussed the making of the shadow box. I used the one I made from pear pizzazz cardstock. I had great plans initially for my shadow boxes, but then reality set in and I thought simple was the best way to go. I used a 5″ x 4″ piece of cherry cobbler cardstock for the base of the card front. I stamped the music sheet background stamp on a piece of whisper white cardstock and distressed...

Shadow Box Cards

I found this video on YouTube and love the idea of being able to make my own shadow box cards. I think it will work for all occasions. I love the actual 3-D effect rather than layering the sides with foam. I need to make up a bunch of these and see what develops. Nina has everything set up for you on her website that you can print out so you’ll have a handy reference to make up your own shadow boxes. I’ve always liked the concept of pop-up cards and having cards and scrapbook pages with various layers....

Beautiful You Clear Mount Stamp Set

I love this stamp set. I’m sure you can relate to it . . . if you dance around as though no one is watching. I am guilty of that. It’s fun and expresses how you feel!! Have You Noticed?

When I get a new stamp set or die set or punch with a stamp set, I like to check out YouTube and see what other Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators have made using it. But, to my disappointment, I find some use other punches from years before that are now retired. I think if you’re going to do a current tutorial, you need to use current products that are available to everyone. There are many who revisit old videos and make them “new again” by showing you how to make a box or a bag or even a card...

Wood Crate Inspiration

I truly love the Wood Texture Suite. I like the 3-D aspect of making pop-up cards with the wooden crate. Here’s a video I found on YouTube that I liked; I am thinking of making mine more of a fall theme — maybe with sunflowers and pumpkins and a ghost or two. Christmas would work, too. There could be some fun greenery and perhaps a selection of Christmas stockings. Just some thoughts I’m thinking about. I would think any theme would work with these pop-up crates. They would make lovely Thanksgiving cards. They could work for back-to-school and a...
